Amber

Gdansk is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea and is rich in amber resources. I went to the Amber Museum and saw the amber of millions of years. I felt the eternity of life in another form. Time and history leave marks in this magical stone, and we are so lucky to witness the product of such a glorious history.

Amber was born 40 to 60 million years ago. It belongs to the geologically-known Eocene. It is a precious pine resin that undergoes metamorphic fossils after extruding through the high pressure and high heat of the earth's rock formation. Amber is an amorphous organic semi-precious stone. It is exquisite and light, with a gentle and delicate touch. Most of the ambers are transparent, with a wide variety of colors, with the most common being yellow, but also red, green and extremely rare blue.

In the museum, amber is made into delicate ornaments, becoming necklaces, earrings or sculptures. As a souvenir, I picked a gift for my mother. Amber symbolizes eternity, and I think it is the best gift.
